Cetaphil DermaControl Cleanser and Moisturizer Review & Giveaway! **CLOSED**

Hello! I am very sorry for the hiatus in blog posts, I have run out of downtime and so my blog has had to sit in the corner for awhile while life has taken over. However, I have had some behind the scenes things on the go with my blog over the last month or so - one of which being some product testing for these products!

In December, I was lucky enough to receive some Cetaphil products for me to try out and review as part of their Think Zinc! Campaign. The products I received are: Cetaphil DermaControl - Oil Control Foam Wash, and Cetaphil DermaControl - Oil Control Moisturizer. I remember my younger brother using Cetaphil products in high school for his severely acne prone skin, but I didn't have much experience with the brand prior to this. I was excited to give the products a try!

I have always been one for a very simple skincare routine. The less steps I have to do, the better! these products fell into my daily routine quite easily. I use the cleanser in the morning and at night, and I use the moisturizer just in the morning. It does have SPF so that is always a bonus! Since using the products I have seen a consistent improvement in my skin tone, definitely a lot less redness and active acne! I am lucky to have pretty non-problematic skin, so I only have a few hormonal breakouts about once a month, but this helped to keep them at bay, and they definitely didn't last too long!

Cetaphil DermaControl - Oil Control Foam Wash:

This cleanser is described as gentle and non-drying, and is a foam wash. It contains a zinc complex and is ideal for oily, combination, or blemish prone skin. I was pleased that this cleanser did not leave my skin with that squeaky clean tight feeling that many foam cleansers have done for me in the past. It claims to provide shine control and leave a matte finish, which I can definitely agree that it does! The cleanser does not leave my skin oily at all. I also always like a cleanser that has a pump, as i find it helps me to use the proper amount and not over use the product. If you have overly dry skin, I am not sure that you would enjoy this product, I have combination skin with hormonal acne and I found it to work well for me.  In the morning I have been using this cleanser while in the shower, just a tip for those looking for a way to save some time in the morning!

Cetaphil DermaControl - Oil Control Moisturizer, SPF 30:

This moisturizer is described as non-greasy, lightweight and suitable for daily use. It also contains the oil-absorbing zinc complex, and has a broad spectrum of UVA/UVB protection. The moisturizer also has the same pump packaging as the cleanser, which I like! The moisture claims to provide hydration, shine control, and SPF sun protection. It definitely didn't make my skin oily, so I can agree with its claim! It does say the product is fragrance free,  but to me it smells a lot like a typical sunscreen. I personally like that scent, but it may be a bit off putting to others! I have enjoyed using this moisturizer, and my mom, who is in her 60s with dry skin has used it as well and enjoyed the results!

These products retail for $18.99 CDN on average, which is a bit higher of a range for drugstore products. I do find though that you  get what you pay for at the drugstore for skincare products, so sometimes it is worth the splurge! These products can be found at most pharmacies, as well as at Target, Walmart, etc. They also have been recommended by the Dermatology Review Panel, and were voted Canada's 2013 Product of the year in the ''Facial Care" category. Overall I was definitely happy with the products. They have worked well with my skin and I will definitely continue using them, as will my mom!
